UNICOM® Systems, Inc. Releases
Focal Point™ 7.4.1

MISSION HILLS, CA - June 30, 2020 - UNICOM® Systems Inc. has announced the release of Focal Point™ version 7.4.1. Focal Point is a comprehensive portfolio planning solution that market-driven teams can use to make collaborative, objective decisions to deliver products, projects and services offering the highest customer and business value. Focal Point reduces the complexity of managing information from various sources such as emails, documents and spreadsheets and provides a collaborative centralized environment for requirements, products and project data.

Focal Point 7.4.1 - What's new in this release?
Focal Point version 7.4.1 introduces key functionality, usability and performance improvements for visualization, dashboard reporting, filtering and editing of data.

Take a look at some of the major enhancements in this release.
Revamped Dashboard
The Dashboard is fully revamped with additional functionality, user interface refinements and performance improvements including the following:
•  Widgets can be resized and maximized as a display overlay and drag and drop enabled for usability.

•  Table widgets now offer all the controls that are available in the Display View. This includes features like sorting, pagination, sticky columns and headers, resizing and reordering of columns. Data can be quickly exported as spreadsheets.

•  Charting capabilities are enhanced with the latest libraries. Users can export charts as images. They can also convert Pie charts to Donut charts.
Enhanced Parallel Coordinates View
The Parallel Coordinates view was introduced to provide a single page for visualizing and managing links across multiple modules. This feature is greatly enhanced as follows:
•  It is now possible to consider backward links to an existing module while defining a new axis. Prior to this release, it was only feasible to consider the outgoing links.

•  In order to accommodate axes with a large number of elements, two options are added. Users can adjust the size of the view port based on the number of elements and axes in the display. Controls to apply sorting and group by operations on each axis are newly added. Now the users can arrange the elements in each axis in the order they desire.
Usability Improvements in Filtering and Attribute Editing
Focal Point version 7.4.1 usability improvements include the inline filtering of elements using dynamic filters and inline editing of link, link list, owner and parent folder attributes.
•  The ability to add new rules to the inline filter ribbon, delete/unselect existing rules and clear all rules from the ribbon.

•  It is now possible to create a new filter or edit an existing filter without using the filter popup window.

•  Two new types of inline editors for link, link list, parent and owner attributes were introduced.

•  Options to add and delete targets are available in the same widget.

•  A Checkbox/Radio button based editor displays the link targets as groups of checkboxes or radio buttons arranged in multiple columns. The Inline search editor is similar to the default link editor except that the searching and editing is done inline.
Miscellaneous Functionality Enhancements
Focal Point version 7.4.1 provides the following miscellaneous enhancements:
•  Ability to flag elements with different priority levels in the tree view

•  Introduction of collapsible sections in the UI

•  Support for heading tags, insertion of horizontal rule and maximizing the edit area in the rich text editor

•  Ability to display the tag attributes with color codes based on their relative usage

•  Sticky columns and column reordering capability in the normal table

•  Ability to restrict REST/SOAP calls based on user level permissions

•  Ability to cluster focal point nodes using manual peer discovery (without using multicasting)

•  Support for Db2 11.1 and Postgres 11.7 as application databases
