Kanban Board Enhancements |
|
|
|
|
Take advantage of the popular Agile framework of Kanban in Focal Point 7.5.1 that provides key enhancements to the existing Kanban board feature to improve Agile work state management. |

Users can now use a link attribute instead of a choice attribute to setup the Kanban board. The targets of the link attributes are dynamic; hence this provides the flexibility to create the Kanban boards with dynamic work states. |

The new feature can optimize the information shown in the Kanban board by hiding the row and column groups which are not part of the workflow visualization.

Export/Import of Information |
|
|
|
|
Information contained in Focal Point entities can be exported into spreadsheets using the export functionality. Downstream teams use this information to build custom reports and analytics. The import capability in Focal Point helps users to gather information from multiple sources in spreadsheets and later import them as Focal Point entities. These capabilities are further enhanced in Focal Point 7.5.1 as follows: |

Auditing of changes done in Focal Point is made easy with the ability to export the history logs of the elements into spreadsheets. The history can be extracted for a selected attribute or the entire set of attributes belonging to the element. |

Information in a matrix attribute can be exported into spreadsheets and later imported back into the same attribute. This provides the capability to edit large matrix attributes offline and bring the changes back into Focal Point at a later stage.

Attribute Enhancements |
|
|
|
|
Focal Point 7.5.1 introduces new capabilities to better manage the attributes. These capabilities help an Administrator quickly prototype new processes in non-production environments, test and later import the attribute configurations to a live environment to ensure information uniqueness. |

Attribute configurations from one module can be exported and imported into another module. The target module could be in another workspace or in another Focal Point instance. |

Administrators can define unique text attributes in Focal Point. This will ensure that the textual information stored in an attribute is unique for all the elements in the module. The unique constraints will be applied while creating and editing information in Focal Point.

Visualization Enhancements |
|
|
|
|
Focal Point 7.5.1 improves the ability to visualize Focal Point entity information. Visual indicators based on flags and icons on elements help users visualize large sets of information in an ordered and structured manner. These capabilities are further enhanced as below: |

Support for icon attributes are enhanced to include the link attributes. When a link attribute is selected as the icon attribute, the icon of the link target will be used as the icon of the element. |

The "group by" capability is enhanced to include the flag status as a group category. When grouped by flag levels, the elements will be categorized based on the flag levels set up by the user on individual elements. This makes it easier to identify the elements based on their relative importance.

Revamped Filter Editor |
|
|
|
|
Filtering of elements based on the information stored in the attributes is a very common Focal Point use case. Focal Point 7.5.1 provides a revamped filter window, which ensures better performance and response time when dealing with a large number of attributes in a view. |

Miscellaneous Enhancements |
|
|
|
|
Focal Point version 7.5.1 provides the following miscellaneous enhancements: |

Identity Provider (IdP) Meta data needed for the SAML based single-sign-on can now be provided as a URL. |

A new global setting is provided to show the information of the email sender in the body of the email, instead of in the "on behalf of" field.
|

The list of criteria in the legend tab of the visualize view will follow the order in the tree structure of the criteria module.

| • |
Added support for Postgres13.6, Postgres14.2 and IBM DB2® Enterprise Server Edition 11.5 as the application databases.

Column and row groups in attribute statistics charts and reports can be selectively hidden similar to the groups in a Kanban board.
