PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT:

System Architect® 11.4.13 Released

As a valued System Architect® customer, we want to let you know that a new version of System Architect has been commercially released. We continue to drive improvements to the product within themed areas to enable you to build and maintain a strategic, value-driven enterprise architecture.

System Architect 2026 – Version 11.4.13 provides the following enhancements:

Underlying Technology Enhancement – In a major underlying technology enhancement to System Architect, the limit of memory allocated for a definition, symbol or diagram's properties has been increased to accommodate more data being stored at the object level. This function is internally referred to as the Max Memo and it has been essentially doubled.

Usability: File Manager & Picture Browser Enhancements – File Manager now supports import of all files from a folder and optionally subfolders. This enables you to import an entire directory structure of graphics, with System Architect automatically putting the proper prefix on each file name to maintain the directory structure inside the Files table of the encyclopedia.

Heuristically, this enhancement enables you to easily find graphics within the subfolder categorizations while using SA's Picture Browser to quickly build diagrams with your own icons, including latest digital-innovation icons from Microsoft Azure, IBM Garage, Google Cloud, and Amazon AWS.

Usability: Dialog Positioning on Desktop Now Remembered – System Architect now remembers where you last positioned dialogs on your desktop, so that the next time you open a dialog by selecting a menu choice, the dialog is placed where you last had it positioned. This is true for most dialogs, except advanced edit dialogs.

Enhancement to '+' Dialog for Adding Definitions or Diagrams in Heterogeneous List – When creating a new definition or diagram by clicking the '+' button in a heterogeneous list property, the dialog to select the definition or diagram type is now skipped when there is only one type to be presented.

Customizable Metamodel – Enhancements to SA's famed customizable metamodel include these new functions:
Ability to create line symbol types (via usrprops) that are drawn between other line symbols.
Addition of a new Entity2 symbol type to allow symbols defined by Entity definitions to be added to user diagram types (as specified in usrprops).
EA Management: SAEM – The System Architect Encyclopedia Manager (SAEM) utility – which enables you to manage Microsoft SQL Server encyclopedias that are SA encyclopedias – can now have its font configuration for Query windows changed through ini setting SAEMQueryFont, that will override SADialogFont.

SA XT Definition Editing – Editing definitions in the SA XT web-browser sister product has been enhanced as follows:
SA XT Edit Definition pages now include a Delete button. This is convenient if you access the (editDef.aspx) page for the ddid directly, rather than from the SA XT Explorer – as some customers do via SA Publisher output pages. If an organization prefers not to have this Delete button available, it can be disabled in a web.config setting.
Key properties can now be edited in SA XT.

SA XT Diagramming – Adjuncts and line-end indicators now appear for newly drawn representationally consistent lines and wizard lines. Previously you had to trigger the refresh function manually before they appeared.

Integrations: SA REST/OSLC Configuration Wizard Now Has 'Service Account' Authorization Type – A new "Service 'Log On As' Account" authorization option has been added to the SA REST Configuration Wizard, accessed off the Start menu. The new option allows a database server connection using a Service Account.

Improved Guidebook – Enhancements have been made to the Guidebook that opens in the main workspace of System Architect when you start the tool. Material has been streamlined and improved, and free self-paced training workshops on TOGAF 10, ArchiMate, UAF, and DoDAF 2 have been provided within easy reach.

Frameworks: Support for SCOR DS Reference Models – In an enhancement timed with this release, and available for download on the UNICOM Systems Customer Portal – a prebuilt encyclopedia of the process models for The Supply Chain Operations Reference Digital Standard (SCOR DS) is now available.

SCOR DS is the latest version of the SCOR Framework – a comprehensive, digital framework for benchmarking and improving supply chain processes, performance, practices, and people. SCOR helps organizations standardize and optimize their supply chain operations by providing metrics, best practices, and an overall structure for continuous improvement.

Client Issues – A number of client issues are also fixed, as enumerated and described in the Release Notes.
